The Midea M-Thermon A 12 (model MHC-V12W/D2N8-B2E30, code 14082175) is a monobloc air-to-water heat pump from the Arctic range, designed for heating and cooling homes and small buildings with a thermal demand of around 12 kW (A7/W35). It features R-32 refrigerant, wired control, WiFi connectivity, and compatibility with zoning systems (Airzone, Acuazone) and BMS.
Important: The unit does not produce domestic hot water (DHW) autonomously; to have DHW in the installation, an external storage tank/indirect tank (not included) with the corresponding hydraulic and control accessories is essential.
Key Features
- Services: heating and cooling. DHW only with external tank.
- 100% water installation: only hydraulic supply/return (no refrigerant handling).
- High temperature supply: water up to 65 °C with +5 °C outdoor; up to 60 °C with −15 °C.
- Connectivity: WiFi (MSmartLife app), compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
- Smart Grid Ready and cascade operation without special control for power modulation.
- USB Setup: fast parameterization and diagnostics via USB port.
- Zoning and BMS: Native Modbus RTU; BACnet/KNX via gateway.
- CTE 2020 / CYPE: considered a renewable solution and included in the CYPE database.

Required Components for DHW (not included)
- DHW storage/indirect tank with coil sized to demand.
- Tank sensor and 3-way valve for heating–DHW switching.
- Safety elements: safety valve, non-return valve, air vents, sanitary expansion vessel if required.
- Thermostatic mixing valve to limit consumption temperature.
- Secondary circulator if required by the system hydraulics.
Recommended Applications
Single-family homes and small buildings with underfloor heating, fan coils, or low-temperature radiators. The 100% water monobloc architecture reduces paperwork and speeds up commissioning thanks to USB configuration.
Installation and Maintenance
- Hydraulic supply/return connections; no refrigerant handling required.
- Observe service distances, level base, and anti-vibration elements.
- Size inertia and balancing according to minimum flow/volume.
- Check wiring sections and protections according to maximum current.
